Dear Young Adults and Parents of Young Adults,
Looking back, I remember my years as a teenager. Those years were filled with fun, excitement, and very little responsibility compared to life as an adult. Like most teenagers, everything revolved around me. It is often said, “teenage years are the best years of your life.” While those years were fun and exciting, I would not consider them the best years of my life. You see, during my teenage years, I was missing the key ingredient to life. A great theologian by the name of Blaise Pascal once said, “There is a God shaped vacuum in the heart of every person, and it can never be filled by any created thing. It can only be filled by God.”
Today’s teenagers are searching to fill this God shaped vacuum in their heart. They are trying to fill this void with material possessions and things this world has to offer, much like I did. This God shaped vacuum can only be filled by having a personal relationship with God, through His Son, Jesus Christ. If you are reading this and are a teenager, I pray that you have made the most important decision of your life, to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. If not, I urge you to come see me so that I can share with you how to fill this void and be changed for eternity! Be sure to join us on Wednesday nights.
Over the next few weeks I will be teaching a series on Facing Real Life Issues. Whether Christian or not, today’s teenagers are constantly facing real life issues and temptation including suicide, sexual immorality, idolatry, witchcraft, anger, and the use of drugs and alcohol. Through this study teenagers will learn what the Bible says about these issues and how to overcome them by applying God’s Word to their daily lives.
In Christ,
Pastor Brad
